We Aim To Slay

September always has been and always will be my favorite month of the year, but this year may be the best September yet! Two days from now I’ll turn 31 and later this month We Aim To Slay will turn 10 years old!

Who Am I?

Over the last ten years I’ve been blessed to bring you along on this journey – but exactly am “I”? And who is the “We” behind We Aim To Slay?

My name is Taylor: when I started We Aim To Slay I was 21 years old and had just finished an internship in the editorial department of Nylon Magazine. At that time I was ten years into my pageantry career, and was nearing the start my career as a journalist. And while my career path has taken more twists and turns than I could have anticipated, at my core, I’ve been the same girl for 31 years: someone who loves being outdoors and traveling, someone who prefers to snuggle up with a good book and a cup of coffee, a fashionista who lives by the iconic words of Carrie Bradshaw, “…sometimes I would buy Vogue instead of dinner, I felt it fed me more.”

How I’m Celebrating!

In true Carrie Bradshaw fashion, I’ll be treating myself all month long!

To kick off the month, I’ve planned a relaxing spa day for my actual birthday! Then my bestie and I will be headed to my favorite city on Earth for special brunch at TAO Downtown.

Then we’re moving into the most important week in fashion – New York Fashion Week! For the first time in the last decade I won’t be working, but rather, I’ll be attending a fashion show as a ticket-holding guest! And who knows, maybe you’ll spot me outside of The Bureau Fashion Week event at Gotham Hall!
