We Aim To Slay

It feels like only yesterday that I attended my first Vintage Market Days of Connecticut event so I was shocked to realize that event was in 2024! And while I’ve never missed the annual April event, this past weekend was my first time attending the summer edition!

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank event coordinator, Amanda, for inviting me to attend as a content creator which included my entry (plus one free ticket for a friend though I went solo this time) and an adorable swag bag: a printed Vintage Market Days tote and t-shirt, a winter-scented candle, and a drink coozie printed with this event’s flyer!

I Came…

Without fail you can expect to find the cutest photo setup, decorated to coordinate with the theme – can you tell this is one of my favorite parts?! – and this year was no exception!

VMD was my introduction to the world of vintage clothing and home goods. In the years since first attending, I’ve developed relationships with my favorite vendors and discovered my newfound passion for antique milk glass!

I Saw…

Speaking of home goods, I love strolling through the various vendor booths – there’s always something interesting to find, like this pumpkin pie-pie tin from The Thrifted Pig!

I Ate…

I wouldn’t be me without taking a snack break! I started my shopping trip with a mango mimosa from With a Splash Mobile Bar; rallied around lunch time with some ‘totchos’ (tater tots dressed like nachos) from Dolly’s Chik N Tots; and made my way back to the car with a mango smoothie from Cool Bri’s Smoothies!

…I Bought!

On my never ending quest for the perfect work wardrobe, I picked up a few new pieces! I’ve been looking for a plain black belt (a staple item!) and found an ideal candidate at Valomie Boutique; this was quickly joined by a snake print accessory belt by DKNY that I found at With Love, CT!

In a similar fashion, I ended up buying two shirts that are polar opposites – both from That’s Invintage! Maroon is a staple color in my wardrobe, and I love to add a level of excitement to an outfit by playing with texture and material. But this year I’ve started adding more “true neutrals”: whites, creams, and beiges, like this linen tank.

Remember how I said I’ve taken a liking to antique milk glass? Ever since buying a set of tea cups and saucers (from Jonathan William Home) I’ve become obsessed with adding to my collection! And I did just that, purchasing this gorgeous chalice-style dish from Cottonwood & Church, and this Marie Antoinette-inspired shoe from Details by G!

Sometimes an item just calls to you, and that’s how I felt about this lilac scented soap by Foxglove Soap Co. You may not know this but lilacs are my favorite flowers!

I’m patiently waiting for the next VMD of CT event, taking place the weekend of April 9th through 11th of 2027! In the mean time, making my way through my favorite local vintage & consignment shops!
