Welcome to the Makeup Round-Up! This is a monthly series where I’ll be sharing new makeup products, and the looks I’ve created throughout this month that weren’t highlighted in their own articles.

After the tumultuous events of last month, June started off slow. But as the days passed my creative spirit returned, reinvigorated and ready to SLAY! Let’s get into it!
The Products
It’s hard to believe that I only bought two new makeup products this month: the e.l.f Stay All Night Micro-Fine Setting Mist and Power Grip Primer.

I’ve used e.l.f., products on and off for years, so I wasn’t surprised to liked how both products applied and felt on the face. I was surprised at how well they worked: keeping my makeup intact throughout a four hour, outdoor photo shoot that involved a high humidity, hiking, climbing a waterfall and several dunks in a natural pool! (There’s a preview on my Instagram!)
The Looks
As I said above, June didn’t start as a month for loud and colorful makeup looks. Instead, I crafted many variations of the same concept…

…neutral looks that would be appropriate for any and all settings! I even “jazzed it up” by adding a touch of pink to the eyes one day!

This approach, though simple, did allow for some gorgeous product photography as I tested my new Coleyes Color Contact Lenses – full review to come!

Rico y Suave
About half way through the month my creative muse checked back in, and I used one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes – Aora Mexico’s Mirame – to create this vibrant and wearable look!

This look is easily recreated using only three shadow shades: a shimmery white, a matte red, and a metallic purple! Follow along with the tutorial & share your final looks with me via the We Aim To Slay LinkTree!
A Gem for Every Day
Borrowing some of the rhinestones we used for my sister’s prom look, I created an everyday variation of Euphoria-inspired makeup! That blue shade is from the ColourPop Blue Moon palette, and has quickly become my favorite color to use as a brow highlight!

Dragonfruit Summer
Earlier in the month I found the most beautiful dragonfruit – also known as Pitaya, and ironically my nickname is Taya! – which inspired this halo eye look! I’ll be sharing a full tutorial for this look which will include tips & tricks for working with false lashes – directly from the experts behind House of Lashes! In this look I’m wearing the style Iris from the H.O.L Collab Collection!

And in creating this look I realized I’d already created several fruit-inspired looks this year!
Photo Shoot Glam!
Rounding out the month, I teamed up with MJB Design Works for our second waterfall photo shoot! I did keep the glam simple, opting for the same base look that I created to see The Bride! Movie, which I then deepened for the more dramatic looks we shot at the end.

Shockingly, I never shared the photos from our first shoot together last year, but I think you can understand why I was eager to book another shoot with this photographer at this location!

What Do You Think?
Is there a makeup look you’d like to see me try, or a product you’d like me to test in the next Makeup Round-Up? Let me know in the comments below! I’ll be back next month with another Monthly Round-Up, until then…
Have a great rest of your week, and remember to SLAY!
