Welcome to November, everyone! For those of us in the northern hemisphere, we are winding down the year and bracing ourselves for increasingly colder weather. Today I’m back with #SevenDaysOfSlay – the cold weather transition edition! Let’s get into it!

Monday
If you’ve seen any of my styling content before, you may have picked up on my love for the “preppy” aesthetic. Personally, I think it lends perfectly for a professional setting, and can easily be jazzed up or dressed down depending on your needs!
Here I’ve taken a more casual approach, and really focusing on functional layering to help protect me against the New England weather! Starting with this white tank top bodysuit from Rainbow, I added a powder blue button down (an oversized one, from T.J. Maxx), and a cropped sweater by the brand Pink Rose. To keep the vibe laid back, I went for a dark wash skinny jean tucked into the Franco Sarto boots.

Tuesday
Some wintery mornings are harder to contend with than others, and when I have trouble leaving my bed, I know it’s time for cashmere!
I am once again starting with the white tank top bodysuit from Rainbow, but I’m allowing it to be seen today, wearing it beneath a black cashmere cardigan by Colour Works. I’ve added a bit of spooky season edginess with these wide leg, tartan trousers which I got during the Dazzle Boutique closing sale! And for a pop of color, I finished off with these super fun booties by Sorel that I found at T.J. Maxx!

Wednesday
Sticking with the cozy theme, I’m using this oversized vintage blazer from Wild Hearts Boutique to spice up a relatively neutral look – a black legging-style pant and the white tanktop bodysuit from Rainbow!
I’ve tied the colors and aesthetics of the blazer back into the look by selecting the Franco Sarto boots; a heeled variation of the popular equestrian look! I was tempted to add some sort of embellishment – such as a gold belly chain – but with the zipper detailing, I opted for an intricate necklace stack instead.

Thursday
I bought this Mango button down and this Zara mini skirt separately, but as soon as they were both in my closet I envisioned wearing them together! For this wintery take on a preppy classic, I added a pair of tights – purchased from Walmart – and the suede jacket I got from T.J. Maxx!

Friday
Black and white dressing is no stranger to winter weather, but I’ve added a chic take on the color palette by playing with the fit and hemlines!
Here I started with this pleated and flowing skirt, part of an outfit that I purchased from an artist collective-bazaar in Torrington (as seen in my Hashira Halloween look!), which I layered beneath a white knit sweater dress from Venus that I belted using this pearl belt from Dazzle Boutique. I kept the black and white theme going with black tights (from Walmart), a pair of white quilted booties by Guess, a black cashmere cardigan by Colour Works, and a white headband!

Saturday
Jumping back into the warm greens and browns of the season, I’ve opted for a neutral look for the day.
I started with a pair of caramel corduroy trousers from SheIn, paired with a green velvet mock neck from Target, belted with the pearl belt from Dazzle. A few weeks ago it would have been warm enough to wear this look without a jacket, but now that the wind is howling I’ve opted for this black, white, and yellow houndstooth motojacket. To finish off this look I grabbed the Franco Sarto boots, which are a very similar color to the trousers, allowing the shirt to steal the spotlight!

Sunday
And I’m finishing out the week with a playful and flirty take on black and white – by layering this Francesca’s summery dress with pieces that will bring it straight into the dark half of the year!
This dress was one of my favorite purchases from over the summer and even though it’s no longer warm enough for this adorable Little White Dress, I’ve layered it over black pieces for warmth. I started with a pair of tights from Walmart, layered beneath a Forever21 bodysuit, and the Colour Works cardigan. I wanted to tie the white of the dress back into the look with these Guess booties, and tapered them into the overall outfit with a pair of socks with lace detailing.
