Introducing the House of Lashes Daily Collection!

Happy December, everyone! The end of the year is upon us, and the holiday season is in full swing! It’s this time of year when we are reminded to slow down and take a moment to appreciate the blessings and the love that surrounds us. And, I am super excited to be announcing my newest brand partnership – House of Lashes!

With all of the upcoming family gatherings and holiday celebrations, we don’t want our makeup to slow us down and House of Lashes’ Daily Collection is the magic ingredient for flawless glam that lasts all night. Trust me, I just wore The Sweetie’s on Thanksgiving and by the end of the night I forgot I was wearing lashes!

Meet the Brand – House of Lashes

Founded by Jenn Chiba in 2012, House of Lashes was “created to inspire and empower people regardless of age, race, or gender to feel beautiful with lashes that not only complement their diverse eye shapes, but their unique personalities, too,” according to their website. “We believe that real beauty comes from compassion, kindness, and inclusivity. The foundation of our company is built on these values, and we are proud to stand with our diverse communities and believe we are stronger together.

Chiba was inspired to create House of Lashes in order to “provide a wide array of unique, never-before-seen lashes at an affordable price.

And to top it all off House of Lashes is dedicated to supporting organizations across the globe, helping to “educate, raise awareness, and develop research with a good cause,” working with organizations such as, AAPI Women Lead, Create & Cultivate, The Be Rare Foundation, Alopecia UK, Keep A Breast, and Goby.

As a long time pageant competitor and titleholder I am no stranger to false lashes, but you may be shocked to know that, traditionally, I found lashes difficult to apply by myself. But in the last few months I’ve been creating more intricate makeup looks that really needed lashes to pull them together.

Prior to receiving the Daily Collection, I happened to have a lot of lashes in my makeup kit, many of which are by House of Lashes, including: the Americano, the HOL x Sephora Marigold, and the Femme Fatale which I used for “Wrapped in a Ribbon” and “Elphaba”!

The Daily Collection

The newest release, the Daily Collection, delivers “effortless daily half lashes for your elevated, “your lashes but better” look.” The three styles in the collection – The Sweetie, The Flirt, and The Muse – are made with “soft, faux silk fibers and pre-trimmed bands,” according to the website.

This collection also offers three additional products: the HOL® Bonding Glue and Sealant, and the HOL® Lash Glue + Eye Makeup Remover.

The Sweetie

As the first pair in the set, I was surprised by how much I loved these lashes! My natural lashes are quite long and curled, but they’re not very dense and The Sweetie added the perfect amount of volume to my look!

I ended up using this pair to create two additional looks: my Wicked: For Good Elphaba-inspired look, and my Thanksgiving look! And as I said above, by the end of the night I had forgotten I was wearing lashes – that’s how comfortable they are to wear, and how truly natural they look!

It was during the filming of the (chaotic) holiday look that I discovered that the Bonding Glue is black – which I was smearing all over my eyelids and eyeshadow during the application process. So, if like me, you struggle with applying lashes, keep in mind that there is black glue, and unlike mascara, you’ll want to remove it before it dries!

The Flirt

As I said, because my lashes are naturally long and curled but sparse, The Flirt blended into my lashes a little too well. They are definitely the most “natural” and subtle of the set, and I think will be very popular with the people who want to look awake without wearing a full face.

I used The Flirt for this cute pop-of-color pink eye, and I think they were the perfect compliment to this playful look!

The Muse

From the first moment I put on The Muse I knew they were and would be my favorite pair in this collection! They are just a tad more dramatic than The Sweetie, and added a beautiful feline aspect to my eyes!

After the initial try on, I used The Muse for this vibrant teal-and-lime eye look!

The Remover & The Lash Story

So I’ll be honest, I didn’t realize that the lash story was a “lash story” – aka, a lash storage case – at first. I was just super excited to have an HOL branded keychain! Until I was out all day wearing The Flirt and was able to store my lashes in “my little keychain” once I no longer wanted to be wearing a false lash.

Similarly, it took me a while before I tested the Remover, as I traditionally prefer a makeup cleansing balm to remove my makeup. But, while making this “frost makeup” look I was determined to customize a pair of lashes by adding a water droplet effect! I used the Remover to cleanse my HOL x Sephora Marigold lashes, and flash cured clear gel nail polish to create this wintery effect!

And, I finally tested the Remover on my face the other evening. It was very gentle on my face, but also super effective. It removed all of the makeup and bonding glue without irritating my eyelids – super important to me during the healing process since my allergic reaction. It has the most delightful orange smell, and didn’t irritate my skin at all. The only “down side” I noticed was that it left a bit of a residue that can be common in products like Micellar water. But this is definitely a product I’ll be using more, especially to cleanse my lashes after repeated use!

My Thoughts!

This collection has something for everyone – a top notch lash glue-and-product remover, two incredibly effective adhesive products, and three styles of lashes that are perfect for everyday wear.

When I first tried all three pairs I was convinced that The Muse would be my favorite pair, but I’ve now worn The Sweetie’s on two separate occasions and they may be moving up in rank! Although I’ve been blessed with naturally long and curled lashes, they’re not very dense, and I found that both of these pairs added the perfect amount of volume to the outer lash line. While I like how they look, I found that The Flirt is set up more like lash clusters rather than a full lash. That effect made them blend into my natural lashes to such an extent that I felt they were essentially invisible.

I highly recommend the entire collection! And, you can see exactly what I was thinking during my initial unboxing and try-on in my review video!

What Do You Think?

The House of Lashes Daily Collection has most certainly turned me into a “lashes person”! This collection is available on www.HouseOfLashes.com – I can’t wait to hear which pairs you try and your thoughts! Let me know in the comments below!

I’ll be back next week to share my newest manicure obsession – the Olive & June Builder Gel Collection!

Have a great rest of your week, and remember to SLAY!

Isn’t it so cute?! I may end up using it as a bag charm more than as a lash story!
