For many years I have wanted to add a video component to the We Aim To Slay brand, and I’m so excited to finally announce – We Aim To Slay is officially on YouTube!

What You Will Find!

Currently you will find content covering topics similar to what you’ll find here – hair, makeup, fashion, and travel – but in an entirely new format! Not only will this be a fun way for me to expand the brand, but I’ll be able to include more candid footage about my everyday life and what goes on behind the scenes here at W.A.T.S.!

Makeup Tutorials

This is the section I’m most excited about – I’ve long thought that a video component was the missing link for sharing makeup looks, and turns out, I was right! Not only is it easier to explain my process, but it can be much easier for you to follow along in real time!

At this time there are three makeup tutorials available to watch – my 2024 Holiday Makeup look, a recorded live “Get Ready With Me” where I share my go to pageant makeup look, and my newest edition, my Everyday Makeup Routine! Let me know which look is your favorite!

Hair Tutorials

When I was transitioning my hair from chemically straightened to my natural curls I searched for inspiration and tutorials to style and take care of my hair. I ended up finding some amazing creators – Joyjah, Nia the Light, Lauren Lewis, and so many more! – but their hair always seemed a tad different from mine so some methods or product recommendations didn’t work for my hair type.

Over the years I’ve learned a thing or two about taking care of my curls, and I’m very proud to be able to help #CurlyGirlies all over the world do the same! So far you can find the video tutorial for my 2024 Holiday Ribbon Crown hairstyle, also explained in these two blog posts: Creative Hairstyles Part 1 and Creative Hairstyles Part 2. And stay tuned, because a new hair tutorial will be dropping next week!

Outfits & Styling!

If you’ve been following We Aim To Slay for some time, you’ll know that I love the art of getting dressed! No matter the setting, there’s something so creative and magical about planning your outfit and seeing it all come together!

While this playlist (linked in the header!) is currently compiled of YouTube Shorts, I do have a full outfit styling video scheduled for later this month!

Travel Vlogs 

Last week’s post was all about my goals for 2025, one of which was to make a point to travel more this year! Sadly there is only one travel vlog video available on the channel – my Tennessee and Mississippi trip! – but, my Florida vacation vlog will be premiering next week!

And in keeping with my New Year’s Resolutions, I already have some trips planned for the first half of this year!

The #SelfCareSeries

The We Aim To Slay #SelfCareSeries was a spur of the moment idea that has grown exponentially in a short amount of time! Stemming from the idea that “You can’t pour from an empty glass,” each month I talk with a different pageant titleholder and discuss our volunteer efforts, our self care practices, and how those two concepts come together to create a well rounded and fulfilling life! 

This project has grown so much in the last few months that I think it will be expanded in the near future, and I’m very excited to share that news with you all when it’s time!

What’s Next?

I’m excited to continue making and sharing content with you guys – and I can’t wait to see where that journey takes us!
