It’s My 29th Birthday!

Today is my 29th birthday! As I inch closer to the end of my twenties I’m reflecting on my blessings – because I have been blessed beyond belief in my short life!

This month, We Aim To Slay will turn 8 years old, and two weeks ago, my sweet puppy, Dante, turned 1 – can you tell we’re a Virgo-centric household?!

And speaking of blessings, two days ago I was riding in a convertible for the Newtown Labor Day Parade, and two days from now I’ll be strutting down the runway as I join my I.A.W.P. sister queens for New York Fashion Week!

I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to thank all of you for joining me over the last 8 years! Sharing my tips and tricks with you has always brought immense amounts of joy to my life, and I’m excited for us to continue on into the future!

Birthday Shoot at Saville Dam

You guys know me well enough to know that there is no event that doesn’t warrant a photo shoot! Luckily my mom, Stacey, was on hand to help – both in lending me the dress, and for manning the tripod!

The inspiration for this shoot hit while my mom and I were in The Poconos – we spent some time at the outlet shops, and while there, found the cutest little dress on the sale rack in Francesca’s. Made by Audrey Park X Francesca’s, this little dress features black tulle, sewn in a way to create a fashionable-pouf effect.

For the various photos I changed up my accessories: starting first with gold balloons, matching heels – which tragically broke while I was trying not to get hit by a truck in the parking lot – and a pair of gold-backed chandelier earrings; my black strappy sandals from TJ Maxx, red sunglasses from Abella Eyewear, and a vintage red, silk scarf that I got from Renee’s Resale Clothing Outlet.
