After meeting Renee Mizrahi at the Connecticut Vintage Market Days event, I had been itching for an opportunity to visit her storefront, and I finally had the opportunity to do so a few weeks ago!
Meet The Owner

Mizrahi is the owner of Renee’s Resale Clothing Outlet, a resale and vintage boutique sporting an ever changing and eclectic assortment of fashion and accessories! Located at 220 Indian River Rd., in Orange, Connecticut, Mizrahi has been at this location for the past 6 years – out of the 8 years she’s been in business. She explained that one of her friends, who also works in the resale boutique industry, has served as a mentor, calling her a “guru” and citing that it was the mother of this friend who took her to her first Salvation Army at the age of six.
“I always had an eye for fashion,” said Mizrahi. “I’m not a fashionista but I like funky things – a little weird, a little different, a little funky. But that’s not the whole world so that’s why I have a little bit of everything.”
Renee’s Resale acquires its varied inventory in a variety of ways, with Mizrahi taking appointments, traveling the country, and even being contacted by other industry members. And the inventory follows the seasons – their current stock is curated for Spring & Summer, and features such items as reconstructed denim jackets, flashy tops and jackets, jewelry and accessories, and even an assortment of shoes.

“I’ve always been into funky, like, my girlfriends used to make fun of me, with my shoes especially,” said Mizrahi. “I was wearing gladiators way before anybody else did, and people would laugh at me.”
It was at that moment that I knew Mizrahi was a kindred spirit, and will likely become a life long friend!
Walking through Renee’s Resale – which Mizrahi stresses is, “a resale boutique not a thrift shop, not a consignment shop, [we are] a resale boutique,” – you can find a wide array of options, from clothing to accessories to shoes and jewelry.
What I Wore and How I Styled It!
Before heading over I had to get ready! I decided to wear my hair down and natural because I have been itching to break out my strapless bodysuit (purchased from Plato’s Closet).Over the bodysuit I wore a pair of Chico’s trousers – that I accidentally shrunk in the dryer, but they’re now the perfect capri length! – and finished off the outfit with a long duster from Zara.

Accessories included my Steve Madden platform sandals, a dangling necklace from Spirit Nest, and a set of gold leaf earrings that I’ve had forever.
For makeup I used the Smashbox tinted moisturizer for my base, the Tarte Shape Tape concealer, Sephora brand setting powder, the Sailor Moon blush, and the Tarte bronzer before crafting a subtle smokey eye using the ColourPop Of Quartz palette.
As with most looks, I start by sweeping the ColourPop x Sailor Moon shade “Shining Moon” across the entire lid, bringing the color up to the brow. Then I go in with the Quartz shade “Granite Access,” blending it into the crease and along the lower lash line. Once the shadow is blended to my liking, I’ll use a flat brush to pack the shade “Ore” all over the outer two-thirds of the lid. And, I’ll finish off the shadows by adding “Mine Games” in the inner corner and along the inner side of the lower lash line. I finished off the eye look by crafting a winged eyeliner using the Stila Stay All Day liquid liner, and the BadGAL Bang waterproof mascara. I finished the look with the always-a-classic Clinique Black Honey almost lipstick.
Ladies Night
At the event itself, there were several raffles with prizes such as a multicolor purse, a wide selection of food to pick at while browsing, and so many people gushing over the amazing inventory! And for those such as myself who aren’t lucky when it comes to raffles, each guest was gifted a little bath kit that included spa socks, hand cream, chapstick, a spa headband, and chocolates!
Here’s What I Bought!

As you can expect, I made a beeline for the vintage clothing section where I found a black Clara Sun Woo mini dress and a black tutu skirt without a label. I wore that black dress to work last week, paired with a tribal print duster jacket and a pair of sandals. I have yet to wear the tutu skirt, but I think it will be the perfect addition to my pageant wardrobe for my upcoming competition!
Y’all know me, I’m a sucker for a good accessory, and so when I found myself standing between the displays for vintage scarves and belts I knew I was going to be spending quite a bit of time selecting. I ended up with a tagless red silk scarf that I’ve worn in my hair once, and a silver, rhinestone belly chain that I can’t wait to take on my upcoming vacation!

I rounded out my accessories haul with a gold and rhinestone encrusted linked chain necklace, as well as a pair of geometric earrings for Hubby!
What Do You Think?
Take the time to check out Renee’s incredible collection of goods, and let me see what you’ve purchased! I’ll be back next week to discuss my upcoming return to the pageant stage!
Have a great rest of your week, and remember to SLAY!
