We Aim To Slay

I am, unabashedly, a creature of habit – it’s part of why I don’t try every beauty or fashion trend that flashes across my social media. But every once in a while I’m struck by a need to get out of my comfort zone, and this time, it brought me to Savage X Fenty – the lingerie line created by musical sensation, Rihanna.

As much as I love the frill and lace of a beautiful neglige, I was on the hunt for something a tad more practical; a bra that I could reach for each and every day. My search brought me to the T-Shirt bra (which I purchased in black).

I won’t lie to you, buying the bra flat out would have been a tad expensive ($44 USD before factoring taxes and shipping). And while it technically would have been more cost effective to sign up for the monthly subscription, I wasn’t prepared to make that kind of commitment straight out of the gate. In response, I waited for an appropriate sale and decided to take the leap! (My bra arrived in mid to late September, so I’m pretty sure it was the Labor Day Sale.)

When my purchase finally arrived I was impressed by the subtlety of the packaging.

The box was nondescript but pretty – the outside baby pink, the inside lined in a shade of lilac. The bra itself was wrapped in plastic, which was carefully draped in tissue paper and held closed with a logo sticker. It was refreshing (and better for the environment) to open a box that was proportionate to the contents!

When I first pulled the bra out of the packaging it was silky soft to the touch. The website describes it as being made from a “seriously soft microfiber.” The straps are adjustable and feature rose gold metal clasps and hooks.

This was absolutely the bra I had been searching for. On first wear I found the band to be a tad tight, but as I wore it more consistently, it became very comfortable. The cups are completely unlined, offering a lot of support without all of the flash and annoyance of added padding.

The bra lays flat beneath everything I seem to own, and even though I purchased it in black, it’s not easily seen beneath a shirt, even white ones!

Quite frankly, it has quite literally become the bra I wear everyday! I raved about it so much in fact, that my mom and sister have each purchased from Savage X Fenty as well!

Would I purchase from Savage X Fenty again? Based on this experience, absolutely. I continue to keep an eye on the site, but haven’t placed another order so far.
