The Kylie Skin Eye Cream

The Kylie Skin Eye Cream

Very few people could look you in the eye and say that they hadn’t heard of Kylie Jenner, Kylie Cosmetics, or her most recent venture – Kylie Skin.

As with most celebrity brands, I was skeptical at first. But as I was scrolling along through the Internet, I found a review of the full Kylie Skin line on Harper’sBazaar.com.

Writer, Jenna Rosenstein, said that her expectations for the line were low, as “formulating skincare products is tough; you’ll never please everyone.” Rosenstein goes on to describe Kylie Skin as a sort of “one-size-fits-all” product line – it consists of “one eye cream, one cleanser, one serum, one moisturizer, one toner, and one scrub.”

Of the eye cream Rosenstein wrote: “The product I was most impressed by was the eye cream… I never in a million years expected it to lighten my dark circles — since most eye creams just feel really good but fall short on actually doing anything other than plumping fine lines… If you buy only one product from Kylie Skin, make it this one.”

I placed my Kylie Skin order on Tuesday, June 11, 2018. By Wednesday, June 12, my order had shipped, and when I returned home on Monday, June 17, there was a baby pink package waiting for me.

On first using the Kylie Skin eye cream, I noticed that it was a sort of honey-yellow color,

and a bit thicker than the average eye cream (as if there was honey mixed into the formula). It warmed nicely between my fingertips and spread easily around my eye area. As it first started to set and sink in, I could feel a slight warm and tingling sensation, but it only lasted about two minutes.

The product absorbed nicely into the skin. There wasn’t any residue, and it lay well beneath moisturizer and makeup.

It’s been seven months since I received that first tube and I only just finished it right around New Years. Now truthfully, I don’t use eye cream consistently but that’s because no eye cream has given results – even when used consistently – that made me feel as if it needed to be a part of my daily routine.

Let me start by saying that this product did not seem to have any effect on my dark circles at all, whatsoever. As nice as it felt on my skin, I just can’t justify spending almost $25 for a product that doesn’t get me results. But then again, maybe I needed to have used the product more consistently to have seen any real results.

I haven’t found a product that I like better than the Kylie eye cream, but I recently started using the Bliss Eye Do All Things Eye Gel – I’m not disappointed but I’m not sure that I’ve been using it long enough to have noticed any real impact yet.

So I’m curious, readers, what do you think of eye creams? Is it a staple in your routine? Is it a product that you skip over completely? Which brands have you tried, and what did you think of them? I will absolutely use your feedback to inform my searches, and maybe even feature some of them in an upcoming post!

As always my dears, remember to SLAY! and have a wonderful rest of your day!
