We Aim To Slay

Search the hashtag #MondayMagic on Instagram and you’ll find a series of beautiful young women wearing beautiful dresses, gowns and ensembles. The clothes are courtesy of Dazzle Boutique, the photos are shot by Jerome Stallings and one of the featured Hair and Makeup artists is none other than myself, Taylor Gallagher. And then, it was my chance to model for the #MondayMagic collaborations!

Thank you, Laurye and Jerome, these shots are even more awe-inducing than I could have imagined!

Before I jump into the hair and makeup, because let’s be real, I do the same thing almost every time (LOL!), I need to talk about this gown…

This ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE Jovani gown honestly leaves me speechless. I felt instantly like an old Hollywood movie star; think Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara or Audrey Hepburn as Sabrina or Princess Ann. There’s a very large part of me that wants to have a chaise lounge upholstered in this fabric. This floral print, quasi-toile is the fabric of my dreams. And! There’s pockets, you guys. *cries in couture*

All of the photos were taken in Prospect, Connecticut, in the Historic District.

To style my hair, I got it wet and then added a good amount of Shea Moisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-in Conditioner. I then used a Scunci headband to keep the majority of it out of my face.

I kept the makeup simple; I started with the Maybelline Dream Velvet matte foundation in Caramel (which is a tad too dark for me but is blending out better than the NARS, which is a tad too light right now). I created a soft smoky eye, and finished with the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit in Angel and then a put a Barbie pink gloss on top.
