Ordering online can be exhilarating, but it can also be a huge disappointment. In the spirit of making the best of my FairySeason fiasco, I brought one of the swimsuits with me while I spent the weekend in Nashua, NH for the Miss New England Coed pageant to support my sister, Cami, as she gave up her title, and my friends that were competing.
Like I said in this post, I had originally ordered both swimsuits in hopes of being able to style them as wardrobe pieces more so than swim wear. And if you read my review (linked above) you’ll know that I essentially ruled both pieces out for a myriad of reasons. Luckily I’ve always been a fan of a challenge, so without further ado, let’s see how I styled the FairySeason ‘Color Block Deep V-Neck Swim Suit’!

Some of the issues I had with this suit are that it’s not lined, rendering the white side completely unable to get wet. The “black” side is indeed not black, but a navy-esq shade of blue. Also, look at that seam work in the front. It’s horrible. That random double seam? Which isn’t even the same length on both sides? *shudders* But it did end up fitting well and other than those few details I do like this piece.

I decided to keep the rest of my outfit simple. I paired the swimsuit with a pair of black, legging-like-material pants from Forever 21 that have zipper accents on the ankle and red on the waist band. I would use that pop of red as a jumping off point for a splash of color, which I repeated with my red and rhinestone encrusted Helen’s Heart shoes and red lips (NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella).

I topped off my look with a white caped jacket from Charlotte Rousse (a gift from my grandma!), a pair of clear crystal skull and cross earrings, and a smokey eye, created using the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette, the CoverGirl TruNudes palette, and a Chanel eyeshadow palette so old, I can no longer read the name off of the product, nor can I find it online.

All-in-all, I’d consider this outfit a hit, as well as this swimsuit. But, I’m interested in seeing if this can be used as a day time piece. Another look for another day! Make sure to stay tuned in order to see how I style the other FairySeason swimsuit! Have a lovely week dears, and remember to SLAY 😉
