The February Round-Up!

The February Round-Up!

Welcome to the Makeup Round-Up! This is a monthly series where I’ll be sharing new makeup products, and the looks I’ve created throughout this month that weren’t highlighted in their own articles.

The Products

Even though I wrote an entire article dedicated to the topic, I’d be remiss in failing to mention House of Lashes. Earlier in the month I placed an order for four sets of lashes: The Muse, The Sweetie, Love & Light, and Macchiato.

And to my utter surprise and delight, HOL sent me an additional four pairs of lashes (plus lash glue and a lash applicator!) in honor of National Lash Day, celebrated annually on February 19th!

Even though I’ve been competing in pageants for nearly twenty years, it wasn’t until 2025 and the debut of the Daily Collection, that I found my stride in the world in false lashes – and now I’m obsessed!

February 2026

This month I returned to my roots, doing less technically creative makeup and focusing on my eyelash application skills. As I said above, this was not something I exceeded in until recently and as they say, “Practice makes perfect!”

Queen of Hearts

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I created a heart-shaped graphic eyeliner look using the About Face Matte Fluid Eye Paint in the shade Scream of Consciousness, and topped off the look with the House of Lashes style Love & Light.

It was this look that made me realize I need to invest in some new makeup brushes! If there are brands or specific brushes you like to use, drop your recommendations in the comment section!

Euphoria Inspired Makeup

With the return of the hit show Euphoria, the iconic makeup looks (created by Doniella Davy) started trending online and I knew I had to jump on the trend!

The cornerstone of this look is the About Face Holographic Eye Paint in the shade Inner World, a beautiful holographic that reflects blue and purple. It was this look that made me realize I’m absolutely obsessed with gluing rhinestones and other sparkly items on my face!

Zara Larsson Inspired Makeup

Zara Larsson and her iconic makeup has taken the world by storm! This was my take on the look, created by makeup artist Sophia Sinot, using my top two colors for Spring 2026 – green & pink!

To create this look I used: the Barbie x ColourPop Malibu Barbie palette, e.l.f. Cosmetics Retro Paradise palette, and the NYX Cosmetics Ultimate I Know That’s Bright palette.

My Blythe Doll

Another viral makeup trend, my take on the My Blythe Doll makeup look is not one of my favorite looks from this month. But, I used my mom’s crimping iron to style my hair and I think it came out looking really fun and beachy!

Virgo Inspired Makeup

My favorite trend this month was “Zodiac Makeup”, creating a look inspired by your zodiac sign! I’m a Virgo, and I think this Virgo-inspired makeup may be my new go-to look!

One of the things that I liked best about this look when I first looked for reference photos was it’s similarity to what I call “pageant makeup”, aka, the look I create for myself when I compete. This look called for the exact same color story, so I used the number one palette in my kit – ColourPop’s Limoncello palette. The difference was the shape of the look; rather than bringing the shadows in through my crease, here I’m using them to elongate the shape of my eye!

After sharing this tutorial, I received a comment asking if I could recreate this look using different colors. I spent almost a week thinking of how to do so before the pieces fell into place! I ended up creating four renditions of this look, and the Honey & Summer variations will be going live on YouTube soon!

Honey Hues Variation

There is something so elegant about this variation; I think it’s the most wearable take on this look, one that would look good on any person for any occasion! And even more exciting, it’s a look created using a single eyeshadow palette – the Kylie Cosmetics Blue Honey! I topped the look with the HOL in Iconic Lite for added drama, and they did exactly that!

Summer Greens Variation

I used the same technique to create this green variation, and honestly, she might be my favorite of the bunch! Unlike the Honey variation, I ended up using several palettes to create this look, including: e.l.f. Cosmetics Retro Paradise, NYX Cosmetics Ultimate I Know That’s Bright, and Profusion Cosmetics Emeralds. And finished the look with HOL in Purrr!

In Lana We Trust

Lana Del Rey released her newest single – White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter – and almost as if I was possessed, I created a red variation of the Virgo Makeup. Honestly, I don’t this makeup look came out very well, but I think the finished photos & video have exquisite vibes!

To achieve this look I started with the About Face in Scream of Consciousness, and I think that’s where I went wrong. I wasn’t able to blend it out, even using an additional eyeshadows: the Aora Mexico Mirame palette, and the Alamar Cosmetics Reina Del Caribe palette. In the end, I topped the eye with the HOL Purrr and created a black-and-red ombre lip using the Kylie Cosmetics Dead of Knight lip kit and the About Face, which I topped with a sparkly brown gloss.

Classic 90’s Lip

For nearly all of these looks I used a three product combo on the lips: liner, lipstick, gloss. Here is my variation of the classic 90’s brown lip, created using the Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 in Rich brown, Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Moonflower, and the Sailor Moon x ColourPop Ultra Glossy Lip in Moon Tiara.

The Return of Bridgerton!

If you’ve been around We Aim To Slay before, you may have noticed that I’m obsessed with the Netflix show Bridgerton!

In honor of the return of Season 4 Part 2, I put together this look using the HOL Daily Collection style Sweetie.
