We Aim To Slay

As I progress on my fitness journey, I’m always looking for new products that will not only help me during my workouts, but will keep me feeling good long after my workout ends. I’ve recently seen a lot of ads from a brand called Après Active Beauty, and decided to apply for their ambassador program!

Après Active Beauty was founded by Alexandra “Lexie” Hingsen, and is based out of Dallas, Texas. According to their website, their objective has “always been to formulate products that not just make you look and feel good, but help reduce waste in the beauty industry.” They go on to explain that all products are biodegradable, the packing is 100% recyclable, and that all products are sulfate and paraben free, and never tested on animals.

These are all values that speak to me, and once I was accepted into the program, I quickly placed my first order!

My First Purchase

After scanning through their array of products, I decided on the “Cool + Glow Facial Towelettes” ($12). Described as a product that will “stop the post workout breakout,” these facial wipes tote being the perfect blend of a cleanser and toner. Each wipe is biodegradable, made from bamboo fibers, infused with natural ingredients such as jojoba oil and menthol, and soaked in Japanese hot spring water.

They feel fantastic on the skin – even the more sensitive décolletage! The wipe itself is soft, and while you don’t smell the menthol you instantly feel that cooling element once it touches your skin. They don’t leave my face feeling dry and itchy, the way most wipes can.

I’ve used them once so far as a makeup remover and they work really well! Not only were they able to breakdown my waterproof mascara, they left my face feeling hydrated and fresh.

I think they’ll be great post surf or standard beach visit, when the salt can also leave your skin feeling dry and tight. I will definitely be purchasing the Cool + Glow Facial Towelettes again! The wipes also offers a one-time-purchase or a subscription option (there’s a wee bit of savings if you do the subscription option, and you get to choose the frequency that the products are delivered).

What I Plan to Order Next

In an upcoming purchase I’m interested in ordering the wet bag – to hold my wet swimsuits after a swim or surf session – as well as the eye masks, which seem to be a fan favorite! If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you’ll know that I’m a fan of all things skincare – so these eye patches have really caught my eye!

Après Active offers two eye mask options. First, the “Lift + Restore Collagen Eye Masks,” formulated to de-puff, hydrate, and promote elasticity. Each set comes with 3 eye masks, and contains ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and marine collagen derived from kelp. Après also offers the “Everlast Eye Mask,” a reusable set of silicone eye masks touted to “work seamlessly with any facial serum, eye cream, or moisturizer.” Although it doesn’t expressly say so, it seems as though you can apply any treatment or product of your choice to the eye area, and then apply these medical grade silicone eye masks to aid absorption.

And the item I’m most likely to purchase next, the “Après Wet Bag,” is a neoprene pouch crafted to keep your sweaty (or wet, if you enjoy swimming laps like I do!) gym clothes separate from the rest of your gym bag items! This pouch is available in three colors; green, blue, and pink. 

What Else Do They Offer?

They offer skincare, such as the Balancing Serum Face + Body Mist, and lifestyle & gym-related accessories such as pilates socks, booty bands, and the wet bag. They also offer bundled kits which pairs the perfect set of products depending on your goal!
