Seven Years of Slay!
It’s been about 3 years since I last posted on We Aim To Slay, and in that time I have gone through some drastic changes – winning a national pageant title and crowning my successor, meeting and marrying my husband, moving into our new home, and starting a new job. In honor of We Aim To Slay turning 7 years old this weekend, let’s go through the highlights of the past few years!

I was working as a full time journalist when the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Unfortunately, not long after it began my newspaper’s branch was folded, and like so many others I was left to simply “figure it out.” Which lead me to attend the Paddle Surf R.I. surf camp in August of that year, and I was hooked!

The following year I was crowned the 2022 Ms Connecticut American Coed! Training for a national pageant, and to improve my surfing, helped me get into the best shape of my life. Looking and feeling my best helped me to secure the title of Ms American Coed 2022!

At the start of 2022 I attended the 81st cycle of Coco Rocha Model Camp – one of the most awe-inspiring experiences! CRMC taught me so much about the business end of the fashion industry – and ultimately, restored my confidence in my own creativity.

Shortly thereafter I met one of the most gorgeous people I had ever seen – and he would go on to become the most supportive husband. Last August we tied the knot in the most elegant and ethereal summer wedding. A few days later we left for Orlando, FL, where our honeymoon coincided with crowning my pageant successor!
For the past year, Hubby and I have been doing mild renovations on our home, and my new blogging room is almost complete! I’m so looking forward to taking all of you through that process!

This past August we celebrated our first anniversary, and just last week we traveled to Washington D.C. to celebrate both our anniversary and my 28th birthday! This was my first visit to our nation’s capitol and I was dazzled at every turn – I’m so looking forward to our next trip to D.C., and stay tuned because I’ll be recapping our adventure in next week’s post!
Before closing out this post I want to take a moment to thank all of you, my readers, for sticking with me and We Aim To Slay over the years. Knowing that there were people all over the world that we interested in what I had to say has kept me coming back to this space time and time again. Thank you all so very much!
I’ll be back next week with more fashion-and-lifestyle-centric content, but remember that you can always browse through the W.A.T.S archive of posts here! That’s all for now, so keep calm and remember to SLAY!
