The Perfect Model-Inspired Makeup for Work!

Vogue does beauty pretty darn well, and they’ve transitioned into the digital space with the class you’d expect from the powerhouse brand.

As part of their digital content, they’ve been putting out ‘Vogue Beauty Secrets,’ a series of short videos where viewers can learn the tips and tricks of their favorite fashionable celebrities.

One video in particular stuck out to me – Emily Ratajkowski’s 5 Minute Date-Night Look.

Ratajkowski (pictured in the feature photo), a model easily identified by her roles in Gone Girl (she played Andy) and in Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ music video, said that she uses this look as her go-to on a daily basis, and when she’s doing the makeup of her friends.

I decided to test this look one day, and it quickly became my go-to routine for work. Here I’ll take you through how I complete this look, what products I use to do so, and the

variations that make this look a makeup staple!

I began by washing my face and prepping the skin with moisturizer. Then I primed, concealed, and completed the base of my look with foundation, setting powder, blush, and highlighter. (All of my current favorite makeup products are linked, here, in a previous post!)

To create this easy-going eye look, I used the Kylie Cosmetics Blue Honey eye shadow palette.

Using the shade “Raw” and a fluffy eyeshadow brush, I swept the beige-nude color from my lash line to under my eyebrows. I then used the shade “Busy Bee” on the same brush in a windshield-wiper movement though the crease and along the outer portion of the lash line. Using an angled eyeliner brush, I applied “Busy Bee” along the lower lash line. I then blended it out using the same fluffy brush as before. I completed the shadows by taking the shade “Bumble” on my ring finger and patting it into the center of my lid.

I finished the look off with mascara, a full brow, and one of my favorite everyday nude lipsticks.
