Welly Merck Watch Collaboration

In July I received an email from a brand executive; who said the brand she worked for would like to collaborate with me, as my style “fits well with” the brand.  At first, as I’m sure you can imagine, I was skeptical.

But, I took some time to check out the brand, Welly Merck, (you can view their website by clicking here) and their line of wristwatches. From there, I was intrigued enough to respond. While I waited for a reply, I began to look through the women’s watch designs, linked here.

The woman replied the next day explaining how our partnership would work, should I agree. Part of this partnership would include a 15% discount code to refer to my followers. That code is, WeAim15, and can be applied at check out! (Always looking out for you guys 😉 )

The watches are beautiful in their simplicity, and I could already picture myself pairing it with the majority of my wardrobe.  True to form, I started by compiling a list of options and whittling it down.

The brand executive said it would take about two to five business days for my watch to arrive, and it did! I ordered my watch on a Friday, and the package was at my house the following Thursday.

  5. Classic Roma S

I both love and hate to make creative decisions like this. I’m the kind of person who wants my wardrobe to be both fashionable and functional, thus I wanted to pick a watch that was neutral enough to compliment at least 75% of what I already own. But, that in and of itself was a difficult choice, as my wardrobe is 70% black, 10% maroon, 10% eclectic prints, and 20% Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I know that’s more than 100%, it’s because my wardrobe has practically taken over my room – #SOS).

The ‘Classic Roma B’ really spoke to me because black and teal are two of my favorite colors. But, the ‘Classic Roma S’ offered a classic simplicity with the black and silver. Both of these picks would go with literally everything I own, but, did I want to buy another black accessory?

On the other hand, the ‘Fighter New York’ was a feminine and sleek design that didn’t look like everything I owned, making it an intriguing option simply because it wasn’t something I would usually pick for myself. But, as my mother pointed out, the mesh wristband would more than likely pull on my arm hair. Thus, the ‘Fighter Oslo’ came to the rescue by offering the same aesthetic with a leather band.

And then there was the ‘Classic Auckland’ which boasted a nylon wristband; this poised the importance of durability. But, given how much time I spend on the go or outside, did I really think the white stripes would stay white for long? And, did I want to wear stripes every single day? No, the answer is no. But the durability of the nylon contributed in steering me away from the ‘Fighter New York’ and the dainty mesh wristband, and towards the feminine strength of the ‘Fighter Oslo’.

In the end, I chose the ‘Fighter Oslo’, and when it arrived I was more than impressed!

Not only was the watch packaged beautifully in the company packaging, but it was shipped in a box that was wrapped in plastic to keep the watch from being damaged during transit. And then, I opened the box to find that the watch was already running, AND! was already programmed to my time zone!

This is why I take such painstaking efforts to make sure everything I own is versatile. This watch is not only comfortable enough to wear everyday, it’s also stylish enough to wear everyday.

Above, I’m wearing a yellow, floral print jumpsuit from Charlotte Russe while in Springfield, MA., supporting my mother while she competed in a pageant. And then I was able to transition the watch perfectly into a work-appropriate outfit of high waisted, JustFab pants, a cherry print crop top, a Zara flannel, and my teal, mermaid-print Converse.

In the end, I was more than impressed by Welly Merck, both as a fashionable brand and as a company to work with. I hope you’ll check them out!
