EVANESCENCE CONCERT

Please imagine that this entire first line is comprised solely of heart eye emojis.

Evanescence has been one of my favorite bands since 2003 when their first album, Fallen, came out. I was eight-years-old and horribly angsty.

Front woman, Amy Lee, has this voice that seemed to transport me into a gothic, wintry, black and white world, where screaming into the void made all of your problems disappear. The accompanying instruments were brusque, harsh, tight-walking between rage and sorrow. I was instantly hooked when my mom’s friend first played Bring Me To Life. And eventually, I had Fallen on a CD which I listened to until I had an iPod to download the album onto.

So, when I got an email that they would be playing at Mohegan Sun, (with Lindsey Stirling no less!) I immediately bought myself one ~almost~ $90 ticket, and waited patiently for it to arrive in the mail. Once it did, it waited, pinned to my bookcase, as a silent reminder that adult-Taylor was the older sister preteen-Taylor desperately wanted (I unfortunately do not have any older siblings, being the oldest myself).

And then it was concert day!! And, even though I didn’t take a single photo of myself (y’all, I’ve been really freaking bad about that lately), I had an incredible time, and I cannot wait to go to another show soon! Linked below is the album of videos I just posted on Facebook, I hope you enjoy them!
